Drivers Education Courses

Drivers Education Courses

In Texas, there are choices to choose from when it comes to drivers ed. DriversEd.com provides education options that make it easy and inexpensive for you to take. So whether you’re interested in Parent-Taught Drivers Education or Professional Instructor-Led Drivers Education, you’re sure to find a program that works for you and your family. We’ll discuss the difference between them both and how DriversEd can help.

Parent-Taught Drivers Education

Parent-Taught Drivers Education (PTDE) is for teens between the ages of 14 and 17 to take the theory part online and complete the driving portion behind the wheel with a parent. Families decide to go this route because it puts the parents in control, and they’re with them every step of the way. But parents need to understand that as their teen's instructor, parents must be responsible and supervise the entire process.

This includes the theoretical portion online and the practical portion which will take place in the family car. Parents must commit 32 hours of academic instruction, 14 hours of in-car instruction, and 30 hours of driving practice (10 hours of which must come at night). The course will take an absolute minimum of 60 days to complete.

If you decide to do it this way, DriversEd.com has an online PTDE course specifically developed to help make the learning process more successful. Parents can rest assured that the course curriculum fully meets state requirements and will prepare teens for the DPS written permit test. The course even includes unlimited free online practice tests to help prepare for the real test!

Professional Instructor-Led Drivers Ed

Professional Instructor-Led Drivers Education allows teens to go at their own pace and then take driving lessons with a highly experienced professional driving school instructor. Driving lessons take place in the driving school’s vehicle, which is specially equipped with additional mirrors and an added brake to keep the new driver safe.

Parents can also feel at ease knowing the instructor is not only experienced but are great communicators when it comes to your teen and their understanding of the driving course, state-licensed with a background check, up to date on the latest techniques in crash avoidance, braking, driving safety, and Texas driving laws—and they’ll pass that knowledge on to novice drivers!

If you decide on Professional Instructor-Led Drivers Education, your teen will not only take their online driver's education with DriversEd but the professional driving lesson as well. They will teach the basics of driving as well as defensive driving techniques to maximize the safety of novice drivers behind the wheel. Plus, completing our Texas teen drivers ed course enables your teen to take the DPS knowledge test online for free.

Do You Prefer a Ford or Chevy?

Do You Prefer a Ford or Chevy? This is the age-old question. Ford or Chevy? Ford lovers wouldn’t be caught dead driving a Chevy, and Chevy lovers wouldn’t be caught dead driving a Ford. Fortunately, this type of mindset is falling by the wayside as the new millennial generation is growing. Many of them do not share the rivalry that their fathers and grandfathers shared between these two makes of pickup trucks. This has a lot to do with the fact that there are many other popular makes and models of pickup trucks such as Dodge, Nissan, and Toyota. People have more options now than they did 30 to 40 years ago. This is a good thing because it breaks people from those ingrained stereotypes. So, if you are looking for a great, reliable, but still luxurious truck, look no further. We have the perfect one for you. How Movies Portrayed Car Salesmen

How Movies Portrayed Car Salesmen Since the 80s and through the 90s, movies involving car dealerships shined a negative light on car salesmen and painted a stereotypical picture. These comedic characters came off as shady, sleazy, pushy, and willing to do anything to make the sale. The News Wheel has listed the Top 5 Worst Car Salesmen from Movies and they're some pretty bad ones. Here are my three favorites from the list. Rudy Russo from the 1980 film Used Cars . A young Kurt Russell portrays Rudy Russo, a state Senate hopeful. In order to get a $10,000 campaign investment from used car lot owner Luke Fuchs, Rudy must help him sell some cars to keep his business up and running. While doing so, Rudy uses standard stereotypical used car salesmen techniques like cheesy commercials, fast-talking, and pressure selling. He even baits a customer from a competing lot by using a $10 bill on a fishing line to get the man to cross the street. Joey O’Brien from Cadillac Man . The ...
