The Black Volga
I came across this interesting story on hauntevehicles.com, and it shouldn't surprise me that there is a haunted vehicle out there in the world. We have haunted houses, dolls, roads, even clothing. The story takes place in the 1960s and 1970s Soviet Union during a time when life was lived in constant fear, the Cold War was looming, and the government was failing. But, another fear struck the people of the Soviet Union, a mythical, legendary vehicle that evoked sheer terror at the very mention of it: The Black Volga.
The Black Volga was well known across the nation as stories were whispered and imaginations aroused. Even to this day, no one knows who was driving the high-end limousine. Some believed it was driven by a priest or nuns, while others believed that it was driven by Satan worshippers or even the devil himself. Regardless of the mystery, when the Black Volga appeared, bad things happened.
The sleek car was a very high-end limousine with white curtains and rims, and it would appear to manifest from nowhere. At times the side mirrors were actually horns. When it was seen, many reports show children missing, and many theorized the vehicle had something to do with it. If anyone were brave enough to challenge the sinister Volga, they would be dead within 24 hours. Why the vehicle picked children as its prey no one is sure, no one was ever able to get close enough and live to tell the tale. But one thing is for certain, nothing could stop it.
The legend of the Black Volga spread through Mongolia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, and Russia. An interesting side note is seeing that this type of vehicle was the most lavish and expensive available at the time it was typically driven and/or owned by the Communist Party and Soviet political officials who thrived on the fears of their country’s people.
