How Much Do You Drive on a Daily Basis?

How Much Do You Drive on a Daily Basis?

We live in a society where people typically drive their vehicles for a short period and do not actually pay them off before jumping into a new one. There can be many reasons for this. This means that the total amount that they owed on the previous vehicle is tacked onto the new one so. Therefore, many people are indebted to their vehicles more than they are with their actual home loans. For these types of people, leasing a vehicle sounds like a good option because you get a new one every two years. The only issue with this is that you are only allowed a certain number of miles per year. So, for those of us who travel long distances every day back and forth to work, school or traveling, leasing is not the best option. We exceed the number of allotted miles in only a few months.

The Alternative to Leasing A Vehicle

So, what does someone do that travels great distances every day to be able to lease or to fit within the qualifications of a lease agreement? The best thing to do is to purchase a used vehicle. There is no sense in paying $75,000 for a brand-new truck when you can get the exact same truck with low miles on it for almost half the price. This is obviously a better investment as well. Yes, you may be obligated to keep the vehicle for the entirety of the six-year note, however, once it’s paid off there’s no harm in getting another one. This just means that it may not be wise to get a new vehicle every two years but possibly every 5 to 6 years. And, the best part about not leasing is that you are not obligated to stay within a certain number of miles every year. You can drive as much or as far as you want. When you lease a vehicle, you may want to take a trip out of state to watch the leaves change in Rhode Island, or travel along route 66 and see all the sites, however, you know that doing that would exceed the number of miles you are allotted for the year. Why should you restrict your travels because you lease a vehicle when you could own a vehicle and travel whenever and wherever you like?

Classic Automobile Features in You Won't See in Modern Cars

Classic Features Classic Features in Cars You Won’t See Today Who knows what kids will reminisce about years from now about their first car. Heck, there’s a chance vehicle won’t run on gasoline anymore, and that is something they will look back on and find nostalgic. Vehicles can start with the push of a button on your keychain, you can open the hatchback with the swipe of your foot, and heated seats (my personal favorite) are just a few features you can find in cars today. Here are a few classic features you won’t see today but were the best. Oldies and Goodies One of my favorites, bench seats. For some reason, I always thought they were fun as a kid, but looking back now, I realize how horrible they really were. Being squished between two adults was actually uncomfortable during long rides. I guess as a kid, you feel the front seat was larger than it really was, and sometimes you had it all to yourself- that’s fun. I’m sure several teenage boys took advantage of the seat design...

A Few Facts About the Ford Motor Company

Ford Motor Company The Ford Motor Company has seen it all since Henry Ford opened the Ford Motor Company in 1902. From producing vehicles for the public to helping with military equipment, going through some rough times in the past, and to some financial problems. The company has proven to be a brand that plans on sticking around for a long time. Here are a few interesting facts that many have not worked out and some that we still see today. Ford Facts Ford was the first company to manufacture and sell cars. Their first model, the Model A, sold for $850 and only hit a max speed of 30 mph.  The Ford assembly line was devised after Henry Ford got the idea from a pig-slaughtering plant.  They offered better pay to their employees offering double the market average pay at $5 a day.  While the first Ford was sold in 1903 to Dr. Pfennig (Ford’s current CEO, Jim Hackett, owns it today), the iconic Ford logo was first introduced in 1907.  Many may not know that H...

Is the Future Now? Self Driving Cars

SELF DRIVING CARS Popular Mechanics - If you were like me growing up, the future looked like an episode of The Jetsons. As a kid, I thought the future what going to bring us talking watches, self-cooking ovens that prepare entire meals, closets that dress us at the push of a button, and of course flying cars. Well, we are not that far off. At the moment there is a possibility that we will see self-driving vehicles on our roads. This possibility has been on the horizon for the past few years, as companies like Tesla and Waymo have been focused on bringing autonomous vehicles to the market. In 2017, the U.S. House passed legislation that could accelerate the development of self-driving cars by allowing them to be driven in all 50 states. The Safely Ensuring Lives Future Deployment and Research In Vehicle Evolution Act (SELF DRIVE) exempts automakers from some safety standards that aren't relevant to autonomous vehicles and permits selling up to 25,000 cars per year without needing ...
