The GoldenEagle- The Most Evil Car in America

The GoldenEagle- The Most Evil Car in America

Recently my family and I watched the 1983 movie, Christine by Stephen King and directed by John Carpenter to get into the Halloween spirit this year. As a kid, that movie made me afraid of my grandpa’s 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Car, afraid it would gobble my brother and me while waiting for my grandpa to emerge from the convenient store. Over the years I got over it, but not before scaring my brother with stories about grandpa’s car crushing him if he didn’t leave me alone. After watching the movie, I wanted to learn a little bit about the car and movie.
Christine is a 1958 Plymouth Fury that made more money than the unknown actors of the movie. 15% of the movie's budget was spent on the 23 cars the film-makers acquired by placing ads across the country. There are only three mint condition Christines remained after the movie wrapped up and used for promotion and a fourth, save from the wrecker, was sold to a man. All of this got me thinking, “Could there be a “real life” Christine out in the world claiming lives in mysterious ways?” Turns out there is.

The GoldenEagle

The GoldenEagle is a Limited Edition 1964 Dodge 330 that is labeled the Most Evil Car in America. It’s current owner, Wendy Allen tells the history of this ominous vehicle as originally being purchased as a police car for Old Orchard Beach, ME. It was then sold to a local man after all three officers to ever drive the vehicle died in bizarre murder-suicides, killing their families and themselves. It then wound up in Allen’s family's position. During this time, the Dodge claimed the lives of 14 people according to Allen. But it turns out the death toll is higher than that. In the 80s and 90s members of different local churches vandalized the car and Allen claims all 32 people died under strange circumstances, 4 of them being hit by lightning. Children became victims as well. Two children, one in the 60s and one in the 80s, were hit by cars and flung across the street to land either under the bumper or on the hood of the GoldenEagle. More recently, after being dared to touch the Dodge, a kid murdered his family and the family dog then burned down the home. In 2010, another church group took it upon themselves to rid the evil car by stealing the car, chopped it up, and distributed it to various junkyards. They believed a demon was living in the car. After Allen searched and asked for help from the internet to retrieve the scattered parts, the church group labeled her, “The Sea Witch of Old Orchard Beach,” and claims she uses the car to cast death spells. After all this, the GoldenEagle never turned on the Allen family as violently as it did to these unlucky folks.

A Few Facts About the Ford Motor Company

Ford Motor Company The Ford Motor Company has seen it all since Henry Ford opened the Ford Motor Company in 1902. From producing vehicles for the public to helping with military equipment, going through some rough times in the past, and to some financial problems. The company has proven to be a brand that plans on sticking around for a long time. Here are a few interesting facts that many have not worked out and some that we still see today. Ford Facts Ford was the first company to manufacture and sell cars. Their first model, the Model A, sold for $850 and only hit a max speed of 30 mph.  The Ford assembly line was devised after Henry Ford got the idea from a pig-slaughtering plant.  They offered better pay to their employees offering double the market average pay at $5 a day.  While the first Ford was sold in 1903 to Dr. Pfennig (Ford’s current CEO, Jim Hackett, owns it today), the iconic Ford logo was first introduced in 1907.  Many may not know that H...

Classic Automobile Features in You Won't See in Modern Cars

Classic Features Classic Features in Cars You Won’t See Today Who knows what kids will reminisce about years from now about their first car. Heck, there’s a chance vehicle won’t run on gasoline anymore, and that is something they will look back on and find nostalgic. Vehicles can start with the push of a button on your keychain, you can open the hatchback with the swipe of your foot, and heated seats (my personal favorite) are just a few features you can find in cars today. Here are a few classic features you won’t see today but were the best. Oldies and Goodies One of my favorites, bench seats. For some reason, I always thought they were fun as a kid, but looking back now, I realize how horrible they really were. Being squished between two adults was actually uncomfortable during long rides. I guess as a kid, you feel the front seat was larger than it really was, and sometimes you had it all to yourself- that’s fun. I’m sure several teenage boys took advantage of the seat design...
