Do You Love to Camp?

Do You Love to Camp?

Camping is perhaps one of America’s favorite past times. It’s something that really builds a lasting impression on you and your children. Your children’s experiences growing up will drastically shape their childhood and as such these fond memories will help make them the people that they become in adulthood. Besides, there’s a lot to be said about going camping. It’s nice just to get away from the city or the urban setting and spend time outdoors with nature. And luckily living in Texas, we have a variety of places to go camping. You can go to the forest of East Texas, the beaches of the Gulf Coast, the sand dunes of Monahans, or the scenic area of Big Bend. This is just to name a few. When it comes to camping in Texas, the options are unlimited.

Camping Supplies

Depending on how long and where you go camping, will determine what you need to pack. There are a lot of supplies that you need when you go camping. A tent is, of course, a main supply that needs to be packed. Tents come in several sizes, and you will need one spacious enough to accommodate your whole family. This means that you need a fairly large tent that will be comfortable for five or six people to reside in no matter the weather outside. You also need a few coolers. If you’re camping for a long period of time, you want to make sure to have enough provisions and drinks to last you the entire trip. So, for this, you need no less than two coolers. You also need a couple tarps to lay on the ground for your tent or to block you from the sun. You also need a couple of totes to keep items such as food preparation items, paper plates, cups, a Coleman stove, forks for cooking s’mores or roasting weenies, fuel, etc. The list can go on, this will depend on family size, preferences, location.  And all this doesn’t even include the miscellaneous items such as lanterns, hammocks, chairs, or tables.

The Right Vehicle for Your Camping Trip

It is clear that you need a lot of stuff when you go on a camping trip. It is also understandable that you will need the right vehicle that is large enough to hold all of your camping gear and your family. If you plan on doing a lot of camping, consider an SUV or extended cab truck for your next vehicle. These vehicles can carry all the camping supplies plus you and your family. How Movies Portrayed Car Salesmen

How Movies Portrayed Car Salesmen Since the 80s and through the 90s, movies involving car dealerships shined a negative light on car salesmen and painted a stereotypical picture. These comedic characters came off as shady, sleazy, pushy, and willing to do anything to make the sale. The News Wheel has listed the Top 5 Worst Car Salesmen from Movies and they're some pretty bad ones. Here are my three favorites from the list. Rudy Russo from the 1980 film Used Cars . A young Kurt Russell portrays Rudy Russo, a state Senate hopeful. In order to get a $10,000 campaign investment from used car lot owner Luke Fuchs, Rudy must help him sell some cars to keep his business up and running. While doing so, Rudy uses standard stereotypical used car salesmen techniques like cheesy commercials, fast-talking, and pressure selling. He even baits a customer from a competing lot by using a $10 bill on a fishing line to get the man to cross the street. Joey O’Brien from Cadillac Man . The ...

Why Buy Through a Pre-Owned Car Dealership

Why Buy Through a Pre-Owned Car Dealership When you hear the words “used car dealership” you think of pushy salespeople trying to sell you an overpriced clunker. But there advantages to buying from an independent car dealership. And if you keep in mind that not all salesmen are trying to make a quick (and dishonest sale) you just might find the vehicle you deserve. The Advantages If you decide to go the route of buying from a dealer, instead of a private seller, you can choose some extra options for your vehicle. You can opt to have an extended warranty to cover your vehicle after the manufacturer warranty expires, curb rash can be removed, and special promotions may be offered, such as free oil changes or free tire rotations. Dealerships care about their reputation, it’s how they keep customers and gain new ones. So you can expect that customer service will be top-notch and they won’t just wash their hands clean after the sale. Dealers also offer their own financing and financ...

Historic Route 66- Main Street of America

Historic Route 66- Main Street of America Over the years, Route 66 has provided travelers, dreamers, and renegades with an experience no other route can give. Established November 11, 1926, covered 2,448 miles and originally ran through eight states starting from Chicago, Ill to Santa Monica, CA and quickly began to be one of the most popular highways in America. It soon became known by other names such as The Mother Road, Will Rogers Highway, and was spotlighted in John Steinbeck’s classic novel The Grapes of Wrath. When The Great Depression hit in 1929 over 200,000 traveled to Californa seeking reprieve from The Dust Bowl and used The Mother Road to escape. Some traveled west with the promise of work. With barren land surrounding them, farmers and their families gathered essentials and traveled west in hopes of work. Towns, mom and pop businesses, and service stations along the highway survived The Great Depression by catering to travelers with supplies, fuel, and car parts. Res...
