Are You Creatively Inclined?

Are You Creatively Inclined?

Do you ever see the people who drive around looking for garage sales and yard sales where they can find small treasure troves of items to refurbish? They can completely redo a sofa or even a dining room table. They look for items, such as furniture, to purchase and completely remodeled and turn it into something that looks completely different, trendy, and new and then turn around and sell it for profit. They don’t just buy furniture to refurbish they also make things out of items like window panes, doors, old iron gates, etc. The finished product is typically amazing. These things sell as high dollar items because of the trendy look they get after someone is finished refurbishing. Most people cannot tell that these items were picked up at a garage sale for probably 1/10 of the amount that they sell for. If you are one of these people, then you probably make a pretty decent living or at least have quite a bit of extra cash due to your unique creativity.

Why Refurbish Instead of Buying New?

The answer to this is simple, some people like the old look of these refurbished items. They typically have a uniqueness about them that cannot be bought in the store. This is the main attraction for people who like to have these types of items in their home. Plus, there’s something appealing to the fact that you are eating dinner off of a 65-year-old table as opposed to just going to the store and buying a brand-new one. Refurbished furniture can give your home an entirely new look. It can also help you to obtain the rustic look if that’s what you’re going for. So, there’s definitely a market for these types of items.

Classic Automobile Features in You Won't See in Modern Cars

Classic Features Classic Features in Cars You Won’t See Today Who knows what kids will reminisce about years from now about their first car. Heck, there’s a chance vehicle won’t run on gasoline anymore, and that is something they will look back on and find nostalgic. Vehicles can start with the push of a button on your keychain, you can open the hatchback with the swipe of your foot, and heated seats (my personal favorite) are just a few features you can find in cars today. Here are a few classic features you won’t see today but were the best. Oldies and Goodies One of my favorites, bench seats. For some reason, I always thought they were fun as a kid, but looking back now, I realize how horrible they really were. Being squished between two adults was actually uncomfortable during long rides. I guess as a kid, you feel the front seat was larger than it really was, and sometimes you had it all to yourself- that’s fun. I’m sure several teenage boys took advantage of the seat design...

A Few Facts About the Ford Motor Company

Ford Motor Company The Ford Motor Company has seen it all since Henry Ford opened the Ford Motor Company in 1902. From producing vehicles for the public to helping with military equipment, going through some rough times in the past, and to some financial problems. The company has proven to be a brand that plans on sticking around for a long time. Here are a few interesting facts that many have not worked out and some that we still see today. Ford Facts Ford was the first company to manufacture and sell cars. Their first model, the Model A, sold for $850 and only hit a max speed of 30 mph.  The Ford assembly line was devised after Henry Ford got the idea from a pig-slaughtering plant.  They offered better pay to their employees offering double the market average pay at $5 a day.  While the first Ford was sold in 1903 to Dr. Pfennig (Ford’s current CEO, Jim Hackett, owns it today), the iconic Ford logo was first introduced in 1907.  Many may not know that H...

Is the Future Now? Self Driving Cars

SELF DRIVING CARS Popular Mechanics - If you were like me growing up, the future looked like an episode of The Jetsons. As a kid, I thought the future what going to bring us talking watches, self-cooking ovens that prepare entire meals, closets that dress us at the push of a button, and of course flying cars. Well, we are not that far off. At the moment there is a possibility that we will see self-driving vehicles on our roads. This possibility has been on the horizon for the past few years, as companies like Tesla and Waymo have been focused on bringing autonomous vehicles to the market. In 2017, the U.S. House passed legislation that could accelerate the development of self-driving cars by allowing them to be driven in all 50 states. The Safely Ensuring Lives Future Deployment and Research In Vehicle Evolution Act (SELF DRIVE) exempts automakers from some safety standards that aren't relevant to autonomous vehicles and permits selling up to 25,000 cars per year without needing ...
