edmunds- The Challenger has come a long way from its first debut in 2008. Buyers can expect the looks of a muscle car and changes to be a more comfortable ride. When it first came out, people were not too keen on the bulkiness of the vehicle, but on the inside, it represented the rebirth of a classic American muscle car and the classic American coupe.

Small Changes- Big Impact

The changes made to the 2011 Challenger such as the suspension, brakes and steering, help it become more capable of keeping up with its competitors. The new “Pentastar” improves both horsepower and fuel economy, Dodge has also added “392” to the SRT8 model’s name, the Challenger SE is powered by a new 3.6-liter V6 that produces 305 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque. Let’s just say, this engine will push you into your seat. As far as performance goes, the Challenger SE is powered by a new 3.6-liter V6, the R/T gets a 5.7-liter V8 good for 372 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, and the SRT8 392 gets a 6.4-liter V8 that produces 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

Challenger R/T Features

Every 2011 Dodge Challenger comes with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Other standard equipment included, in not just the R/T, but the SE and SRT8 329, keyless entry, remote ignition, automatic climate control, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat, and a trip computer. And that’s not everything. The Challenger R/T gets a V8 engine, automatic headlamps, fog lamps, heated mirrors, the SE's Connectivity Group and all of the SE's Super Sport Group equipment minus the wheels.
